Camfive Replacement Hinge

Camfive Replacement Hinge

The original design was made for a Camfive laser engraver but can easily handle any basic hinge needs. The black model in the back is an older version, unfortunately this will be its last appearance as there are none left now. **Instructions** Printed solidly at .3 layer height to prevent warping issues on the underside curve, surprisingly it had zero effect on the functionality of the product. The model can turn around and fit neatly into itself without needing any mirroring adjustments. A .25 bar is required for the hinge pin, providing a snug but usable fit when attached to a larger door with no additional support system in place while mounted horizontally. Note that testing was not performed vertically. Initially it used injection molded designs made mostly hollow for cost savings at the expense of long-term durability. These were later replaced due to frequent breaks after a year resulting from weak material structure. However, I managed to replace them all and discard the unbroken units. **Update:** Two weeks post-printing this model saw several occurrences where the hinge separated under heavy use strain caused by an excessively large door weight equating car hood level lifting off at joints causing damage due unforeseen forces not considered initially while conceptualizing this project.
