Want to harness the power of your camera as a webcam? Look no further! With this 3D model, you can effortlessly mount any camera with a tripod mount on top of your laptop screen (for the sake of your laptop's safety, please don't mount a DSLR - even though it's technically possible; mirrorless and compact ones are perfect). Canon has recently released their Webcam Utility app, making it easy to use most of their recent cameras as USB webcams. Sony and Nikon users have plenty of options available, while MFT users can also join the fun. Ditch that subpar VGA-quality webcam and upgrade to your nice mirrorless/compact camera instead! The main model was created in Fusion 360 by me. My design features a deliberate 10mm gap, ensuring it works seamlessly with laptops having a display thickness of 1mm. Of course, I've included STEP and f3d files so you can edit the design to fit whatever laptop you desire. My model fits any HP ProBook (I'm confident it also works with EliteBook models sporting gen 3 Intel or lower processors). It should work with many more models as well.
