Camera Tripod Screw (1/4" - 20 UNC)
thingiverse
UPDATE: STL-File updated! This tripod screw is reinforced with a 3mm (M3) countersink screw that provides ample stability to hold larger DSLR cameras firmly in place. It can effortlessly support my heavy Sony A850 full frame DSLR without any issues, giving the feel of an all-metal screw. Although it's quite robust, I must admit that this tripod screw is slightly less reliable than an all-metal screw. Therefore, use it with caution and avoid subjecting it to excessive stress or heavy lenses. YOU ARE USING IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! This tripod screw features a 1/4" - 20 UNC thread with a slightly adapted winding angle to minimize curling. The knob measures 5mm in height, the shaft is 4mm long, and the thread is 7.5mm long. You can trim the thread to size using an utility knife. Print Settings: Printer: Sintron Prusa i3 Notes: Use a minimum layer height when printing, and make every effort to achieve maximum layer adhesion by using high print temperatures, a closed print chamber, and strong plastic. Vapor smoothing may also be beneficial in maximizing layer adhesion. Although I only had ABS on hand and was using the Sintron Prusa i3 printer without a heated chamber, the results were still satisfactory. Post-Printing: If possible, tap the tripod screw halfway through. If not, drive the M3 countersink screw directly into place. Find the correct length for your camera and cut the tripod screw to size with an utility knife. Then trim the screw to size and drive it in.
