Camera Quick Release Clamp/Tripod mount
thingiverse
Here is a quick release clamp and plate designed specifically for DSLRs and other cameras. Created because I required a larger quantity of these that are compatible with other release plates, this design meets the need. Larger than typical clamps (88x70x25mm) ensures stability. This part was printed in Carbonfiber PETG at 0.150 mm resolution with 5 perimeters on top and bottom layers and 50% infill for added durability. The result is a nearly indestructible clamp. The 3/8-16, 1/4-20, and M6 threads may require adjustment depending on the print quality. Two 25-30mm long springs from regular pens are necessary, along with an M6 50mm screw, an M6 washer, and nut that should snap into place in the knob. A 1/4-20 camera equipment screw is also required for the bracket. Screw the M6 screw tightly; it should not move when turning the knob. You may need to apply lubricant to the nut. Verify that the knob fits snugly into the back part, as I have widened the opening slightly. The front part has been updated to accommodate more camera plates with screws in the bottom and ANSI screw threads for improved printing and compatibility. This design will also fit an L-bracket available on Thingiverse (Thing #2439918).
