Camera Overhead Mount Accessories
thingiverse
I designed my overhead mount using two 1/2" threaded pipes and fittings, which is relatively inexpensive and allows you to build it exactly to the size you need. Thanks to the threaded pipes, you can easily add more pipes to increase the size. This collection of accessories for the overhead mount includes covers that should be printed in TPU and attached to the feet of the stand to prevent scratching the floor. I had to print them with a slightly thicker wall to compensate for the thickness of the "T" fitting. For the cam mount, I used M4 screws (preferably with hex head) and wing nuts on the other side, which allows you to quickly adjust the angle of your cam. The 1/4" cam screw is secured by borrowing it from my tripod, but you can also print your own or get one on amazon. The cam mount is pretty sturdy and can be printed from PLA. Since most of the time I have a light attached to the cameras hot shoe, I decided not to use a 3D printed screw and instead opt for metal. The cam mount can be adjusted to your liking, especially the width, which allows you to still access the door for battery and SD card replacement. The version shown will fit the Panasonic Lumix G70. I've had this setup running smoothly for a couple of days now, with no issues at all.
