I Use a Standard Digital Video Camera Instead of GoPro Mounting Accessories I Got a Long Bendy Swan Mount for My GoPro and Printed a Custom Flash Size Mount That Attaches to a Universal Camera Tripod Mount. It Was Loads of Fun Figuring Out How to Design It in FreeCAD, and Experimenting with PLA to Get Confident in Its Strength. Print Settings Printer: Reprap Prusa i3 2017 Model, Built from a Kit Rafts: No Raft Needed Supports: Yes, Used for Printing the Main Part in One Piece with a Few Supports Inside the Flash Shoe Gap Post-Printing Clean Out the Support Material from the Shoe Slot and Check the Threads to Ensure They Are Secure. How I Designed This Project I Used FreeCAD and Calipers to Create a Custom Mount That Adapts to Standard Camera Threads, Which Can Be Tricky to Design for Printing. I Went with a Flash Shoe Type Mount Because It Offers a Range of Adaptors and a Universal Joint for Better Control. The Nut Has a Flat Side, and the Rim and End of the Thread Are Bevelled to Grip the Ball in the Socket as It Tightens. It Doesn't Hold the Camera Tightly, But Stiff Enough for the Universal Joint to Do the Real Aiming Work. The Thin Thread Bits Are Squashed Between the Nut and the Ball, Which Reduces Flexibility and Appears to Be Up to the Job. However, Use Your Camera at Your Own Risk.
