The gun rest attaches securely to most camera mounts via a 1/4" - 20 threaded bolt. A hole is drilled, then tapped for a 1/4" - 20 thread, creating a snug fit that prevents slippage. If you lack a tap, you can heat a 1/4" - 20 bolt until it's pliable and twist it through the hole for a secure mounting solution.
