Mounting a webcam securely involves attaching it with velcro directly to a sturdy tripod. To do this, you'll need a mounting plate that fits snugly over the camera and attaches firmly to the tripod's base. The plate should have a solid foundation at its bottom edge, measuring 43.5mm square, which will sit flat on the tripod. As it rises towards the top, the plate should taper down slightly, narrowing to a 9mm width before expanding out again to a 36mm square shape just below the mounting point for the camera. Once in place, the camera itself can be securely fastened onto the 80mm square plate using velcro strips.
