Camera mount for Prusa i3 MK2S bed
thingiverse
This allows a camera to be attached to the bed of the Prusa i3 MK2S printer using a raspberry pi 2.1 one. **Update holder (v4 19/08/2017):** I made the holder fit tighter, as after weeks of printing it became loose and I needed to insert something between holder and mount for a sufficiently tight fit. I used https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1568750 as camera frame, which fitted my camera best. When combining it with https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1646474 as arm attached to the printer, there were two problems: It was too close to the bed and tire wraps of the printer's smooth rods were in the way. I could not find another thing solving all needs, so I took it as an adventure to learn 3D printing and designing parts for it. It is my first attempt at this, quite new to the topic. I used Fusion 360 to design the three new parts. The clips can be used on the camera mount and hold the flat cable in place. The camera frame slided into the simple part that I designed around it. I had to print that part with supports. Maybe someone can comment on how this can be done without, but with the needed opening for the cable, I found printing with supports most suitable. The mount attaches without any gaps to the frame of my Prusa i3 MK2S. You need to use one 10mm M3 screw instead of the 8mm M3 screw provided. As the manual says: do not over tighten them, the thread in the bed is easily damaged. How it is designed, it is for the right hand side of the bed. Mirror it in your slicer if you want it on the left side. As it was my first experience with CAD and Fusion 360, the first two STL have not the best XYZ direction. Rotate them a few times 45 or 90 degrees around well selected axes and you are fine. The clip is OK, (still learning). Have fun in camera view on your 3D printed creations. I used Octopi with Printoid, which is quite impressive on what it can do operating and monitoring your printer and your prints.
