Camera Mount for Bike Helmet

Camera Mount for Bike Helmet

thingiverse

This is a custom strap mount designed specifically for Go-Pro style cameras, but I needed something that would securely hold my Garmin Virb GPS camera to the side of my bike helmet. After scouring various online marketplaces, I managed to source the necessary adapters from an unknown origin (possibly a Swann Go-Pro knockoff), which featured #10-32 threads on their components. To create this mount, I carefully disassembled one of these adapters and sacrificed its acorn nut, inserting it into the hex-shaped hole with great precision. The resulting mount was printed using 100% infill in ABS plastic, resulting in fingers that are still somewhat fragile. However, once everything is assembled, the components hold together firmly, without coming apart. For those who wish to replicate this design, a Solidworks file has been included for easy modification and customization.
