The cap doesn't stay securely in place due to its lack of threads. This remix aims to address both problems. It's easy to scale the design for different sizes (like 49mm or 55mm), but make sure to adjust X and Y dimensions while keeping Z unchanged to maintain thread pitch. Most materials will print this design without support, but printing the spring part with a layer height of 0.1mm or less ensures accurate threads. For a secure fit, apply glue in the mounting holes to attach the front and rear pieces together. For those who prefer the original design but want improved grip, use the 52mm_cap_spring_std.stl file. Be aware that this design may not leave enough space for some wide-angle lenses, potentially scratching your lens surface. Avoid using it with such lenses.
