Camera Cage for Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5

#Panasonic Lumix DC-GH5 Camera Cage I created this cage for a friend who wanted a simple and low profile camera cage for his GH5. The main features/requirements for this cage were: 1. we did not want something that unnecessarily increased the size of the camera 2. the cage should not hide any important controls of the camera (including the battery tray) 3. it should be 3D printable without support 4. it should be rigid enough to securely hold the camera, even though it was 3D printed All parts have at least one flat side for printing without supports.Further, I wanted to print the parts in a specific orientation to not have any forces bulling perpendicular to the layer lines. That is the reason why the right vertical part is split into two. There are some additional mounting holes for accessories. However, I did not create any yet. In addition to the 3D printed parts, several M3 screws are required: - 4x M3x25mm - Screwed from the base - 4x M3x18mm - Screwed from the top bracket - 2x M3x12mm - Side mounts instead of strap - 2x M3x35mm - Screws for the hot shoe - 1x M5x45mm - Bolt for thumbscrew for fixing and removing handle - optional 1x M3x10mm - Mounting for the replacement cold shoe The screw holes are designed with a diameter of 2.9mm, as my printer, like most, prints a little undersized. If your printer is more accurate in that way, you probably need to use something like Loctite or similar on your screws. The short screws are used to fix the camera at two additional points. To use them, you need to remove the strap so that the mounting points are free. Glue should not be necessary. However, you can also glue all parts except for the part that slips into the flash hot shoe of the camera. This part can only be inserted after the camera is Mounted in the cage. This fixed the camera firmly into the frame. If all attachment points are used, the camera is fixed to all parts surrounding it. At the moment there are no assembly instructions, but the Complete.stl gives an overview of how the cage looks when assembled. Feel free to post a picture of your camera within the cage, if you print it. Unfortunately I do not have access to the camera or the printed cage any more, as it was a project for a friend.
