Cameo 3 Curl Guard

Cameo 3 Curl Guard

Chances are anyone that uses a cameo 3 to cut HTV knows the issue I'm resolving here... Normal rolled vinyl feeds great through the machine because it curls down away from the head coming off the roll, but HTV is rolled with the backing on the outside causing the end feeding into the machine to sometimes curl up into the print head. It jams up the feed or knocks the material out of alignment, causing ruined cuts and wasted material. My go to move to avoid this in the past was taping a piece of heavy printer paper to the guide under the cutting that stuck out the back of the machine. It didn't look very elegant and would periodically come loose and jam up the head, negating the whole purpose. These simple stick-on L-shaped guards keep that from happening. There's 2 different versions. One, with no recess on the mounting side, for use with the carpet tape/double sided tape of your choice, and ones that have recesses sized for medium command strips or whatever dollar store knock offs you can find that are 0.73" (~19mm) wide. You need to space them down a couple mm to line up with the long plastic guard under the head guide so they don't interfere with movement. I've installed them on 2 machines and both had slightly different spacing so I didn't modify the model to adjust for that in case there were further variations. 2 guards would probably be adequate, I used 3 for a little extra protection. You do you.
