A bespoke component for the meticulous restoration of a Camelus Bactrianus skeleton is being created through a precise mirroring process followed by 3D printing, specifically designed for Museums Sheffield in the United Kingdom. This intricate project is part of a broader collaborative effort with Nigel Larkin (Natural History Restorations), an expert in multiple restoration projects ranging from whales to dinosaurs. A high-quality digital model of the extant bone was captured using ThinkSee3D Ltd's portable, multi-camera photogrammetry scan rig and processed through Agisoft Photoscan. This cutting-edge technology allows us to generate extremely detailed (sub-mm) 3D archaeology, bone, and fossil models with unparalleled accuracy. Our team can also add vivid color to these digital reconstructions, enabling the creation of remarkably lifelike replicas that are printed in gypsum.
