Cambridge Z88 Battery Cover
thingiverse
This is a replacement battery cover for the Cambridge Computers Z88 machine - The iPAD of the 1980s. I needed a battery cover which fitted correctly and could be clicked and un-clicked to change batteries, so I made one and now my batteries don't fall out anymore. I printed in PLA with 0.2mm layer height. The door fits my Z88 and keeps the batteries in without the print needing any tune-up work aside from removing the supports. It clicks nicely into place, and I can use my fingernail to unclick it and remove the batteries. Supports need to be enabled for the two tiny overhangs or they will droop and prevent the cover from fitting. I've no idea if this will work OK if you use other layer heights.. PLA, 0.2mm layers and a 0,4mm nozzle is all that I tried.
