Camarasaurus dominated the Late Jurassic landscape as one of the long-necked, four-legged dinosaurs that roamed the regions that would eventually become Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming in the United States, and also Portugal. Compared to its sauropod relatives, Camarasaurus sported a shorter neck and tail, but boasted more robust teeth. It remains the most widespread sauropod species found in North America.
