CAMA ZOTZ (Killer Bat)
myminifactory
Emerging from the four-lobed symbol that represents the entrance to the Underworld, Coma Zotz, a dreaded bat, comes into view. Associated with death, sacrifice, and the Underworld, this bat sports a death sign prominently displayed on its chest. The bat is also an emblem of Copan's rich history. Discovered in the 1930s, the sculpture was found lying broken on the ground near Structure 20 at the east edge of the Acropolis. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe. Available for free public access, this project aims to make cultural treasures accessible to everyone. Scan the World is an open-source community effort, and anyone with interesting items can contribute by emailing stw@myminifactory.com to learn how they can participate and help grow this digital collection.
