Cam operated Towel Holder
thingiverse
My mother-in-law inherited some vintage cam-operated towel holders from the 1970s, but she couldn't find any modern replacements. The following OpenSCAD script generates a close replica of the original design, perfect for printing with no support or rafts required. To use this grip/holder, you need to print three parts: the base and two lobes. Assemble them by pushing the lobes onto the pegs in the base. A clever feature built into the lobe ensures they stay securely in place on the peg using a bump that fits perfectly into the groove at the top of the peg. Once assembled, simply attach a sticky foam pad to the back and hang it on the wall. Make sure the lobes are facing each other, not angled down. If they're pointing downwards, just rotate the base 180 degrees.
