For several years I've been expertly operating RC vehicles with one hand while simultaneously capturing video with the other. To further enhance control, I required a device that could function as a third hand while driving my RC vehicles. The only product capable of meeting this need was a GoPro camera equipped with accessories like a head strap to mount the camera securely on the user's head. However, since I don't own a GoPro camera and it's priced similarly to an iPod Touch, I decided to design a substitute solution using an iPod Touch as the primary camera. To achieve this, I came up with a custom cam mount that can be used in conjunction with Gopro accessories, which I purchased at Best Buy for $10.64. This eliminates the need to design and manufacture a head strap from scratch. My design is compatible with the 5th and 6th generation iPod Touch/iPhone models as well as Android phones. If you wish to download this file, you'll find detailed photos illustrating how to assemble the device. The required screws are two 3x6mm screws. Please note that some photos may show the use of super glue and toilet paper to fill gaps between joints, adding friction to ensure a secure fit. This is necessary due to potential inaccuracies in the design's measurements, which can occur during the 3-D printing process or when using different accessories. When assembling the device on the head strap, you'll need something similar to what's shown in the photos to securely fasten your smart device – in my case, an iPod Touch. With this information and the provided photos, you should be able to successfully print and assemble this device.
