Cam Lock Rope Gripper
thingiverse
I needed a cam lock device to securely fasten my canoe to the riverbank so that it won't budge when I get in or out. It's versatile, functioning both ways, by simply rotating the thumb wheel in the correct direction. The device is attached to the canoe within easy reach, ensuring convenient access. First, connect one end of the rope to the canoe, then slide the other end through a carabiner attached to the canoe. Next, throw the free end of the rope over a sturdy bollard or similar anchor point, then pull it tight to secure the connection as shown in the photos. Due to my limited proficiency with basic 3D modeling, I designed this device to be easily cut with a laser. Cut it from sturdy 5mm acrylic material, which is more than sufficient for its intended purpose. To assemble the device, simply secure one M4 screw and two M3 screws in place.
