To enhance my V5 printer, I installed a cam tensioner using M4 bolts as spacers to correctly load the springs. A recent update includes STL files for the body without the follower and just the follower itself, plus a plate with all three pieces. However, the carriage needs further adjustments due to fan mounting hole proximity issues. First, print the body (preferably 3 shells with 50% infill) and let it cool down without removing support material, as it acts as the cam follower. Next, print the lever, ensuring correct lever position for desired lock direction. Install longer M3 bolts to adjust tension correctly. For proper engagement, ensure the lever is fully engaged when "on." A recent update suggests M3 50mm cap screws are suitable for the idler, depending on spring choice.
