Calliostoma Gastropod 1 - Kettleman Hills

Calliostoma sp. originates from the Etchegoin and San Joaquin formations found in the Kettleman Hills region. The specimen was thoroughly examined using a NextEngine 3D laser scanner, and its data was carefully processed within ScanStudio version 2.0.2. A team of undergraduate students from San Francisco State University's geology class, led by Dr. Lisa White, initially discovered this specimen. It is now stored at the UCMP and underwent scanning for the Kettleman Hills Virtual Field Experience project by graduate student Mackenzie Kirchner-Smith.
