I designed some basic large calipers to accurately measure myself for creating custom cosplay items that fit perfectly. To assemble them, I used a 16mm bolt and a wing nut with a washer to securely attach the two parts together. If you decide to scale down the design, be sure to select alternative hardware that's suitable for the smaller size. I wasn't satisfied with the shape of other calipers online because my head is quite large, so I opted for a more traditional curved design instead. These calipers are approximately 250mm long.
