Hi! I created these calipers as a fun and useful project that's perfect for makers of all levels. The markings on the calipers are spaced every 1 mm, so if you're measuring something between two marks, it's accurate to .5 mm. Take a closer look, and you'll see that it's even more precise than that! I designed the calipers with virtually no play, but the print settings can affect the accuracy. To minimize any potential issues, I've included three types of sliding jaws that offer different levels of detentions for the slider. Type 1 features a .6mm "play" setting, which worked perfectly for me and resulted in zero play. Type 2 has a .4mm "play" setting, while Type 3 offers a tighter .2mm "play" setting. If you decide to make your own calipers, I'd love to hear about your experiences and see how they turn out! Let me know if you're interested in an inch version - it's something I might consider making. Thanks for checking out my project!
