The Mitutoyo Caliper model 500-181U and its variants can be easily replicated in a DIY setting, utilizing a quick release snaplock mechanism that allows for smooth operation. This design features two interconnected parts that are held together via a press fit, which proves to be highly effective with ABS plastic. A minimal amount of support material is required during printing, mainly around the joint area where the two components come together. The print settings have been optimized for optimal results, and no internal supports are necessary. The design was created using Fusion 360, a powerful CAD software tool. Additionally, the parts have been oriented to ensure optimal print orientation, resulting in a high-quality final product.
