Caliper Claws

Caliper Claws

I had to measure the inside walls of a vessel with varying thickness, so I designed these claws that fit my vernier calipers perfectly. These claws are tailored specifically for my calipers, but if yours have different dimensions, they won't fit. However, if your calipers resemble mine, it's worth trying at a print time of around one hour for both claws or just printing one claw to test it out. They are not mirror images of each other; the left and right hand claws have slightly different dimensions. You need to orientate these objects in your slicer so that they lie flat on the bed, as shown in image 5 - I made a mistake when creating them. Print Settings: Resolution: 0.15mm Speed: 50mm/s Material: PLA Nozzle Temp: 205° (210° for the first layer) Bed Temp: 55° Infill: 30% Walls: 3 Top/Bottom Layers: 6 Bed Adhesion: Skirt Ironed the top layer for smoothness.
