I used to waste entire packs of LR44s, which my caliper would devour every 2 or 3 months. Cheap Chinese calipers with digital readouts were selling for as little as $5. So I designed a clip-on conversion kit that allows me to switch between AA and AAA batteries, making replacement easier and also providing rechargeable options. First, print the clip and battery box of your choice. Then, glue them together, aligning them by the cable via hole. Next, create a coil and attach the wire from one end to the battery port and the other end to the battery holder. Make triple sure you've got the polarity correct.
