Caliper as a DRO on small lathe

Lathe Bed Caliper DRO I designed this item because I did not like the back lash in the feed knob. I wanted to know how far I was cutting exactly. My solution was to brainstormed mounting one of my calipers on the bed then I could 0 it and know that I cut 1.7mm deep (to the head Stock). Works great but I took one of the magnets out of the body mount because it was hard to take off. As a safety feature feed if the Caliper is pushed buy 0 the unit will slide along the bed and not damage it. Key is using a good magnet. This requires 3 that are 18mm x 3mm. See Amazon page shown. Glue in the magnets with hot glue. No Modifications are need to the Caliper.
