This is another AAA battery conversion for an LR44G button cell six-inch caliper. Design goals were to preserve the full usable length of the caliper, utilize the locking screw in its entirety, utilize the thumb wheel fully, minimize additions to the footprint, reduce modifications to the caliper, and minimize the impact on the feel of usage. I believe this design works well. Print the AAA housing with supports in the default orientation, using higher layer heights for easier cleaning. All other components can be printed without supports. The 45-degree rotation will improve the corners. Use the button cell adapter to bring out plus and minus wires. Place the button cell cover over the wires to secure the button cell adapter in position. Remove the locking screw, then slide on the AAA battery housing. Feed the wires through the holes. Replace the locking screw before it is lost. Connect plus to plus, and minus to minus – it's a straightforward process. I employed tin foil to create the battery contacts. Refer to the pictures for further clarification. Update: On September 30, 2018, I increased the thickness of battery lid clips by 0.1 mm for a snugger fit.
