The California Air Tools 1P1060S compressor earns rave reviews for its quiet operation compared to other models available, yet despite this, vibrations remain an issue that can make it extremely loud inside. By holding the compressor aloft while it's running, I noticed a significant reduction in noise outside of the room, as the vibrations were effectively dampened. To address this problem, I designed and created the squash ball feet to provide a similar level of vibration reduction. To install these feet, first remove each rubber foot by unscrewing the screw that holds them in place at the center. Be cautious not to lose the small washer that tends to fall out during this process, especially later on; it's best to set it aside for safekeeping. Next, push the original rubber foot through the printed squash ball foot. Then, use the original screw and washer to secure the assembly back onto the compressor. Finally, insert the squash ball into place - no additional parts are needed beyond the 3D-printed feet. Please note that this solution may not be effective if your compressor is already situated on carpet or some other form of padding. As evident from the photos accompanying this post, my compressor resides on a hardwood floor and has indeed provided noticeable relief; however, individual results may vary.
