**Custom Test Object for Advanced Slicer Calibration** Upgrading my Ender 3 to direct drive prompted me to enhance the firmware, enabling Linear Advance and fine-tuning slicer settings. Following the creation of several XYZ calibration cubes, I realized that I needed a more precise test object. This design meets that requirement. The custom test object features varied shapes, including curves, sharp corners, short lines, long lines, ringing tests, stringing tests, bridging sections, and even a small overhang. The longer printing runs facilitate easier observation of speed and acceleration settings adjustments. To achieve optimal results, print the test object, assess its quality, and record the time taken for each iteration. Compare these metrics, adjust your slicer settings as needed, and repeat this process until satisfactory outcomes are achieved. **Important Considerations:** * Preheat your nozzle and bed before printing to ensure accurate time comparisons. * I employed 2 bottom layers, 3 top layers, 2 walls, and 5% infill (utilizing Gyroid patterns) without supports. This configuration enables fast printing while maintaining a smooth surface finish.
