Calibration tool for tire profile gauge

Use case

This publication is for the calibration tool only. If you trust the scale in the dial gauge publication, you don't even need this. If you are a precision freak like me, you may want to print this part to make sure your dial gauge reads correctly.

The original publication for the dial gauge can be found here:
https://www.printables.com/model/161506

Step sizes

Please note that the height increases in steps of 1mm from 0mm to 10mm. There is one extra step however! Between 1mm and 2mm there is a 1.6mm step, which represents the German regulatory requirement for the minimum depth of a tire profile (to the best of my knowledge, not guarantee). If you want to mark only one spot on your scale, that might be one.

Printing

Printing this part is very simply. Infill and material is not critical. Just print it in the uploaded orientation (upright). My only tip would be to choose 0.2mm as layer height, to avoid rounding errors in the step heights.

Please like it if you like it!

Happy printing!
