calibration test print
thingiverse
This design features various patterns, including lines, spaces, circles, and hexagons, in sizes ranging from 5mm to 0.5mm. Primarily, it's meant for calibrating extruder and slicer settings, not mechanical calibration (steps per mm). There are numerous designs better suited for mechanical calibration; use them if that's your aim. I found a unique dithered line space pattern helpful for fine detail prints limited by the extruder and slicing software. Achieve symmetry regarding line/space widths and accuracy on feature sizes. First, adjust extruder and slicer settings using the line space design, followed by tuning firmware acceleration settings with hole peg designs. Thanks to the open-source RepRap community!
