Calibration Cube

This is my calibration cube, a vital tool I use to fine-tune new settings every time. Printing takes 15-20 minutes at 58 mm/s and 0.16 mm layer thickness, while the nozzle measures 0.4mm in diameter. In my day-to-day practice, I frequently inspect horizontal dimensions and hole sizes for extremely accurate prints. Based on these results, I adjust filament flow settings and also tweak the Cura setting - "Horizontal Expansion". This enables me to select the right size and achieve high-quality details while optimizing print temperature. According to Ultimaker Cura resources, located at ultimaker.com/en/resources/21932-mastering-cura, the Horizontal Expansion setting allows you to adjust your 3D print's X/Y dimension to compensate for plastic shrinkage as it cools. This control is crucial when working with precise sizes.
