Calgary Stampede Corral - Neon Cowboy
sketchfab
The Stampede Corral stood tall as the largest indoor arena west of Toronto when it finished construction in 1950. For many years, a vibrant "Neon Cowboy" artwork gleamed over the main entrance of the Corral. However, its prominence was briefly interrupted in 1981 with the completion of the Round Up Centre, which partially obscured the artwork from view. The subject of this striking piece is a cowboy expertly riding a bucking bronco. Crafted by Calgary artist Luke Lindoe in a bold concrete bas-relief style, this iconic work of art has become synonymous with the city's western heritage. This digital replica was meticulously recreated using advanced 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry techniques that gathered precise data from every angle.
