The people of Madrid paid tribute to Pedro Calderón de la Barca with a stunning marble sculpture in 1880. Juan Figueras Vila crafted it, and it stands proudly in the Plaza de Santa Ana, directly opposite the historic Spanish Theater. The Academy of History and the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando gave their seal of approval to its design and carefully selected its location.
