Calcite Vase No. 45 Mleiha, Sharjah, UAE

Calcite Vase No. 45 of 47, unearthed from the cache at Mleiha in Sharjah, UAE. Discovered by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority, this ancient vessel dates back to the 2nd-3rd Century CE. A total of 253 photographs were taken during its excavation and processing. The vase was thoroughly digitized using Reality Capture software, undergoing alignment, scaling, modeling, cleaning, simplification, unwrapping, texturing, and meshing. J. Mª Córdoba's book "La era de Mleiha: navegantes y caravanas antes del Islam" (The Era of Mleiha: Navigators and Caravans Before Islam) features the vase on page 92. The find is also showcased in "EN LOS CONFINES DE ORIENTE PRÓXIMO: El hallazgo moderno del país de Magán" (BORDERING THE NEAR EAST: The Modern Discovery of the Land of Magan), a temporary exhibition held at the Museo Arqueológico Nacional from April 18 to May 29, 2016. The exhibition was curated by J. Mª Córdoba Zoilo, with C. del Cerro Linares, Mª C. Pérez Díe, and E. Pons Mellado serving as co-curators.
