Calbuco
thingiverse
Calbuco is a stratovolcano located in southern Chile within the Los Lagos Region. This map was constructed utilizing 1 arcsecond resolution SRTM data from the Space Shuttle (comprising nearly two million polygons). It was generated using a cutting-edge and currently unreleased version of SRTM2STL. The source code for producing files at three arcsecond resolution is publicly available on github, falling under the GNU license. Access github and search for SRTM2STL. If you choose to print this map, it may be advantageous to reduce its size due to potential warping issues with larger prints, especially when using PLA filament. Prints made from large maps have a greater propensity for distortion and may produce suboptimal results. With the addition of a heated bed, printing results have significantly improved, enabling better outcomes, particularly for Raised Relief Maps that cover substantial areas.
