The castle/convent of Calatrava La Vieja is a historic site located south of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Founded by Spanish monks in the 13th century, it served as the headquarters for the Order of Calatrava, a powerful military order. The Order of Calatrava was established in 1158 to defend Christian territories against Muslim invaders. The castle/convent is protected by three concentric walls that fit snugly into the surrounding terrain, making it nearly impenetrable. Inside these walls lies a stunning Gothic-style church, a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Each year, thousands of tourists flock to this well-preserved fortress, marveling at its grandeur and history. This digital model was created using RealityCapture from 1561 high-resolution images.
