Calabash Pipe Stand
thingiverse
A Christmas Eve project that's been delayed for far too long now finally gets underway. Designed from scratch using OpenSCAD, the source files are included with this post for your convenience. To assemble the stand and base, simply print them out and secure them together with a tiny drop of superglue. To prevent scratches on the gourd, I plan to glue a piece of leather inside the pipe holder. Edit: I've recently acquired a second calabash pipe, which has inspired me to create another stand - this time designed specifically for two pipes. Print Settings: Printer: PRUSA i3 MK2 Rafts: No rafts are needed for this project. Supports: There's no need for supports in this design. Resolution: The print resolution is set to 0.2mm, which should provide a smooth finish. Notes: This model was printed using PLA filament. It might be worth experimenting with woodfill filament for added texture and realism.
