Start populating from the middle out. I could have expanded the base to provide better support, but was going for something small and easy to store. Worked so well, I ended up printing two a week later, when she made even more.

WHY?

Before school started, my older daughter decided she wanted to make cake pops for the first time. We started out with a piece of styrofoam we were jamming the pops into. But it was very light and not very stable. So, I realized, “Printables and Thingiverse!” Unfortunately, all the models I found were for the smaller cake pop sticks than the 5mm ones we bought. I started out trying to modify the ones we liked best, but matching all the angles was a pain, so it was just easier to make one. 5 down the middle, 4 on each side and 3 outside that. That comes out to… 19. Nothing weird about that… since, it was already printing. That's okay, first batch was around 15 pops. When school was about to start, she wanted to make more to give to friends. 2 batches… Hmm, 6, 5, 4? Nah, just print another, which supports 38. A nice even number.

TIMELAPSE

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/Bsk-VBuEB1U"></oembed>
