Cake Decorating Spinning Stand
prusaprinters
This is a simple spinning base for a decorating cake stand! The intention of the print is to attach it to the bottom of a food-safe plate or dish rather than placing food directly onto it.Note that this print requires a 8mm x 22mm x 7mm (ID, OD, Thickness) bearing, which should be pretty standard to find (I bought a pack of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0872ZT4JY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)There are two sizes (120mm works for a 6" cake, 180mm for larger), and a few different versions of each.Disclaimer: I've only printed the “min_120mm” to save filament and to test its weight capacity. “Half” and “Full” tops will likely be sturdier than the one I tested, which is still pretty sturdy for a 6" cake. Print InstructionsPrint pieces in this orientation, flat side touching the print bed4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, 20% infill, standard PLA Assembly Instructions Step 1: Press the bearing onto the base piece until it clicks in Step 2: Firmly press top onto bearing Step 3: Tape/stick top piece onto food-safe plate/surface Step 4: Center your “cake” and decorate!
