# Important This project is designed **exclusively** for 1kg rolls of **Printalot** (see attached photos and dimensions) # Objectives: - Reuse empty filament rolls - Use the least amount of material possible - Fast printing - No screws or anything that isn't printed With those objectives in mind, the idea was to make these boxes to print *in vase mode* (or spiral/spiralize outer contour in Cura). # Print for each box: - 1 Box in vase mode (~1:30 hs with nozzle of 0.6 to 0.32 height of layer) - 1 Pin (~5min) - 1 Lid (~ 30 min) (**optional** ) - 1 More pin if lid is used (**optional** ) *I've also included an STL of hollow box that doesn't work in vase mode but the result is much more robust at the cost of much longer printing time* *You can skip the lid if you want or if you're going to print multiple and stack them, since those below don't need a lid. The box works well enough without a lid and without an upper pin.* # Print if you want to make stacked: - 3 Clips The idea is to put clips between boxes and between each roll (see photo). They're not the most beautiful thing in the world but they use little material and print quickly. Anyway **it shouldn't** be a problem with a 0.4 nozzle, although I haven't tried. The pins have very little tolerance and this is intentional, **they should fit very firmly** in the lid and box holes. # Design The design was made in Onshape and if you want to copy and modify it, you can.
