Caged ball in regular hexahedron (cube)
thingiverse
This project involves creating caged balls within regular polyhedra, specifically a hexahedron or cube, as an entertaining doodle. The separate ball and hex files allow for two-color printing if your printer supports it. Alternatively, you can build the ball first then create the hexahedron, pausing the job to insert the ball when its height exceeds that of the ball. The model was designed in Alibre Design using sweeps and extrusions, with triangular cross-sections for the edges.
