Cage with working gate

I needed a gift for my younger sister's birthday last month, and I was completely stumped. All I had was a small stuffed monkey when I came up with the idea to print a cage to put the monkey in. After printing everything out, I placed him inside with a tiny "Help me" sign, and he sat on top of a gift card. It turned out perfectly. It was created using OpenSCAD, and you can easily modify it. The dimensions are all listed in the sizes.scad file, except for some minor adjustments. It may not work flawlessly, as I started using more adjustments and experimentation when I got close to my deadline. The original plan was to print the base and bars together (old_base.scad), but the bars were too unstable so I stopped the print. Instead, the whole design works like a roof: the bars have small pegs that fit into matching holes. The gate has tabs running down both sides that slide into specially designed slots. Due to the last-minute design change, the roof and base are identical except for a cutout. If you want to make changes, I suggest creating a function to handle it. The cage is the largest thing my Thing-o-Matic has ever produced. It was designed to use up most of the build area.
