A beekeeper pal just turned another year older, prompting me to fire up the printer and craft a cage for the queen bee! The queen bee catcher from Thingiverse's Squirrelly is quite impressive, but I felt there was room to tweak its movement mechanism. I decided to go with MarkIver's model on Thingiverse as my starting point - it looked like the perfect choice for a new design that would eliminate those struts from the cage. To give it an extra edge, I adjusted the distance between the feather and the groove. The clamp was designed to sit flat on the printing bed, making it easy to remove any support material with a cleaner.
