I decided to modify the original design to print it in a two-color single piece, switching filaments as needed, which also gave me more control over layer heights and color transitions. To make the text stand out even more, I expanded the width of the letter grooves by 0.4mm. However, when working on the final product, I faced an unexpected issue that forced a design compromise. I loved the rounded edge feature but had to change my plans due to the coaster's inability to pick up from the table surface. To rectify this problem, I chose a square-edged design for better practicality. Although not required for function or aesthetics, I did enjoy taking close-up shots of the top and bottom surfaces as part of my initial design documentation. This item was printed with concentric fill patterns on both the top and bottom layers for enhanced detail and layer cohesion.
