A three-legged table or chair will stand stable on an uneven pavement or sidewalk surface, proving that form can follow function without sacrificing style. Some designers may prefer four-legged tables for their perceived cuteness, but they often wobble and lose balance on rough terrain. Unfortunately, my outdoor cafe table is a four-legged design, which can be a challenge to stabilize on uneven ground. To address this issue, I've created a Balance Foot that allows me to adjust the height of one leg, ensuring the table remains stable. By placing one foot on an elevated surface and adjusting the fourth leg accordingly, the table can be made to stand firm. It's worth noting that rotating the table may be necessary to position the adjustable leg over the lowest point. A simple screw mechanism makes it easy to raise or lower the leg as needed. It's essential to understand that stable doesn't necessarily mean level; in some cases, three legs would need to be adjustable, or two on a three-legged table, to achieve perfect balance. The leg-adjuster and chair foot I designed have greatly improved my outdoor cafe arrangement, eliminating limitations and providing a smoother experience for customers.
