Caescribed — Transforming Any Keyboard to a Braille Accesible Keyboard
thingiverse
Caescribed is an organization established in response to a great accessibility gap present within the Greater Cincinnati region and nationwide. While visual impairment comes with its magnitude of difficulties, a key issue is the lack of visual-impairment-accessible technology. This absence has led to vast effects on career, educational, and societal lookout for those with rapidly declining or completely declined visual capabilities. While solutions exist, mainly custom-made braille keyboards, they are costly, low quality, and provide minimal functionality. Our solution is clear: 3D printable key caps able to convert any typical mechanical keyboard into a braille-certified keyboard for only a few dollars while still ensuring quality. Simply, download the keycap file and print. Then, replace the original keycaps with the new braille configured keycaps.
