Cadet Heater Knob

Cadet Heater Knob

I misplaced my Cadet thermostat's wall heater knob so I fashioned a new one from PLA on my Simple Metal 3D printer. It took roughly 15 minutes to print at 190C with 50% infill. Next, I expanded the hollow shaft by drilling it out larger to accommodate the shaft from the heater - simply using an affordable hand drill and a 9/32 wood bit was sufficient. The object was created in Tinkercad. Printed on Simple Metal, it was sliced using CURA (an amf file is attached for anyone with the same setup). White Hatchbox PLA at 190C with 50% infill proved ideal. To attach it securely, I merely pushed it into place while twisting the knob gently.
